The BT Tower Number of views as of 8th May 2019 = 470. Portland Place, London, England. Formerly known as the London Telecom Tower, the British Telecom Tower and to most Londoners the Post Office Tower, this 191 metre (627 foot) structure is still one of London's most iconic landmarks. The tower was built in 1962, overtaking St Pauls Cathedral as the tallest building in London, an accolade it held until 1980, when surpassed by the NatWest Tower. Date: 8th March 2014.

Here, London’s iconic space station Skylab 7 (I mean, the BT Tower) is captured as an axonometric projection. The tower was designed by the architects of the Ministry of Public Building and Works and is typically brutalist and utilitarian for its time, and emblematic of European TV Towers like Berlin’s TV Turm. The building is concrete structure clad in glass. The narrow cylindrical shape was chosen because of the requirements of the communications aerials: the building shifts no more than 25 centimetres in wind speeds of up to 150 km/h!
