The Buffalo Stampede folded after the 1995 season. They became the Phoenix Cobras. The Phoenix Cobras moved to the Albany area and assumed all of the Stampede's player contracts. They then changed their name to the Empire State Cobras and split their games between Albany and Glens Falls, NY. The team was purchased and relocated to Buffalo where it played three more seasons as the Buffalo Wings.

Defunct Buffalo Wings Roller Hockey 1997-1999

Vintage Buffalo Bisons logo. The Bisons were an AHL franchise located in Buffalo, NY during the late 50’s & 60’s. The team was owned by the Pastor brothers, who also owned the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of WNY. In a true marketing move, the team featured the iconic Pepsi bottle cap with the Buffalo name across the bottle cap as their jersey crest logo. The teams last season was 1969-1970, in which they won the AHL Calder Cup Trophy. In the fall of 1970, the NHL Buffalo Sabres began their inaugural season. This image features a “embroidered look” logo, typical of the crest sewn on the game jerseys. Own a piece of Bisons nostalgia!
