These wild flowers were spotted in Ridley Park, Blyth, Northumberland. The bed was planted in 2015 as part of a national scheme to encourage native English wild flowers and it now abundant with many colourful species.

My favourite season of all time would be spring / summer. I feel like as with many people this year I've missed out on a season so I've taken myself off somewhere in my imagination. I hope that when you look at this piece it also transports you to somewhere wonderful.

The sweet scented English dog rose is a common sight in the hedgerows and a sure sign that summer is on its way. This example was photographed near Holywell Pond, Northumberland.

Dappled light amongst the bluebells in the depths of an ancient Durham bluebell woodland creates a mystical atmosphere, especially on a still and silent Spring afternoon deep in the wood where few other people will be. Magical!
