My first decent photo of my favourite Sylvia Falls with the new camera. The last time I was here was just after a mini cyclone & there was so much water coming over the falls you couldn't stand in front here without getting drenched from the water spray. The view into the Jamison Valley near the start of the National Pass walking track in the Blue Mountains National Park. A seven vertical photo stitch panorama. The National Pass is one of the most beautiful walks in the park. It takes you past the amazing Sylvia Falls & onto Wentworth Falls & parts of the walk are fairly steep. Sylvia Falls near the Valley of the Waters at Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains National Park in Australia. This is on one of my favourite walks & the track goes around the cliff to Wentworth Falls before you climb a steep cliff to the top of the falls. My other good shots of Sylvia are portrait format. I thought I'd try landscape format to show off the greenery surrounding the falls. Photographed with a Canon 400D, ISO 200, 2.5 seconds, F18.

I was impressed by this statue in Bisley Gardens title 'Motherly Love' featuring a mother lovingly holding two children. I wasn't able to fit the children into the frame as well as the garden, so settled for this shot showing her loving face & some of the garden. Although it doesn't show a lot of the garden & it's features, I love the look on her face with the lush green background. My apologies for not writing down the name of the sculptor. This is the view as you approach the falls from above. After hundreds of shots of Sylvia Falls I thought I had photographed it from every angle but this view looked so nice with the ferns & orange coloured rocks that it begged to be photographed. The walking track starts from the Valley of the Waters at a place called Wentworth Falls. The magnificent Sylvia Falls in the Blue Mountains, this time in black & white. As much as I love colour, I thought I'd give this beauty a go in monochrome. This view is on the track known as the National Pass & takes you from the Valley of the Waters all the way around to the huge waterfall which the suburb is named after. From Latin pulchellus, pretty or beautiful, referring to the appearance of the plant. Found in heath and open forests on the coast and adjacent ranges of New South Wales and south-east Queensland. This rusty & dilapidated Thornycroft Trusty near Bilpin (NSW, Australia), on the Bell's Line of Road has stopped me a few times. This is the first time I have seen it without bright sunshine & dark shadows. It would have been built in the mid 1950's. There are a few rusty relics here. This one is the most photogenic. Gardens Of Stone National Park next to Wollemi National Park from a trip a few years ago. I loved the beautiful mountain vistas in this area. As you can see the truck was kicking up a bit of dust. Took a while to choose this one over the version where the truck was closer. I didn't want it to take up too much of the scene. Location: Gardens of Stone National Park, New South Wales, Australia. The Museum of Comtemporary Arts at Circular Quay lit up as part of the Vivid Sydney Music & Light Festival, 2012. The Opera House was less spectacular than in past years but the MCA had a brilliant dynamic display of colours, patterns & graphics & shared the bill with Customs House as the highlight for me of this years festival. If only I had found out about the Amon Tobin music spectacular in the Concert Hall before it had sold out !!! On the Wentworth Pass track starting at the Valley of the Waters, heading past the world famous Sylvia Falls is this beautiful sight. It needed a tight angle because of the small trees obstructing the view. Recent rain made this waterfall more photogenic & the track muddy & slippery. This track leads to Vera Falls & then on to Wentworth Falls but it started to rain making it slippery & dangerous down there. The track is advertised as being for the more experienced hiker. I love the way the new growth on the ferns brings a spray of autumnal colours to the scene (in spring) .. bottom right.
