Description: The Minneapolis Marines were an early professional football team that existed from 1905 until 1924. The team was later resurrected from 1929 to 1930 under the Minneapolis Red Jackets name. The Marines were owned locally by Minneapolitans John Dunn and Val Ness, and composed primarily of working-class teenagers. Some of the first games were played at Camden Park, The Parade, and Bottineau Field. Later games were played at larger stadiums such as Nicollet Park and Lexington Park. The Minneapolis Marines are the first Minnesota-based team to join the National Football League, predating the Duluth Eskimos (1923) and Minnesota Vikings (1961).

While flying over Canada, their plane crashes deep in the wilderness, and the surviving team members are left stranded for nineteen months. The series chronicles their attempts to stay alive as some of the team members are driven to cannibalism. It also focuses on the lives of the survivors 25 years later in 2021, as the events of their ordeal continue to affect them many years after their rescue.
Description: The scenario is familiar to English students, English teachers, and anyone in any work context. We slowly transform our seating arrangements into permanent storage facilities for our extra layers of clothing. An English teacher will drape a heavy sweater over their seat in September and simply leave it there until the end of the school year. An English student studying at their desk will pile three different hoodies on the backrest, completely ignoring the perfectly empty closet nearby. In any work context, a professional will decorate their chair with a formal jacket to create the illusion that they are always ready for a meeting. The extra garments provide a strange sense of comfort during extremely long working hours.
