Place your bets! Opening on July 1, 1969, with 400 slot machines, 503 hotel rooms and a 14,000 sq ft ground-floor casino, the Landmark was the first high-rise casino in Nevada. The three-story cupola dome at the top of the tower featured a smaller second casino, restaurants and a night club. The Landmark was closed in August 1990 and was later demolished in 1995.

Hotel de Ville in Paris (the Paris City Hall) is a very large building housing the city's local administrative affairs. It used to be called Place de Grève. The building has the location of the municipality of Paris since 1357. It serves multiple functions, housing the local administration, the Mayor of Paris (since 1977). It also serves as a venue for large receptions. Since its construction, the building played a key role in several political events and has been the scene of a number of historical events (for example, the proclamation of the French Third Republic in 1870 and the famous speech by Charles de Gaulle on 25 August 1944 during the Liberation of Paris when he greeted the crowd from a front window). This is an image of Hotel de Ville (city hall) in downtown Paris. It has been the headquarters of the municipality of Paris since 1357. Today the building houses the city's local administration, and serves multiple other functions, including the Office of the Mayor of Paris, as well as a venue for large government receptions.
