A quick design.

Mythology has always been a big interest to me, particularly Japanese mythology. The stories and creatures surrounding the subject never cease to capture my imagination. Here we have the Yamata no Orochi, or 8-Headed Serpent. The tribal dragon is something I designed as a tattoo, while the kanji surrounding the beast represents Orochi's eight different heads, which has a different element. Starting at the top, going clockwise, the kanji translates to: Light, Water, Wind, Thunder, Darkness, Poison, Earth and Fire.

Some say that it only appears during thunderstorms, while others claim that it can camouflage itself to blend in with its surroundings. Despite numerous sightings, no one has been able to capture concrete proof of its existence, leading many to believe that it's nothing more than a frightening urban legend.

Sometimes called Hebi, Orochi or Daija, the Japanese snake is legendary thanks to the stories of Shintoism. Here, the snake reminds us of the nature which grows by its beauty and by its orchids.
