On the western side of Thirlmere in England's Cumbrian Lake District is a narrow winding road along the length of the lake. Several parking places give access to woodland walks to the shore of the lake. This bridge is on one such walk near the southern end of the lake, crossing a small but torrential stream tumbling down the hillside. It's the sort of bridge that invites you to cross it - just to see where it leads!

Brain pathways. Coloured 3-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of the white matter pathways of the brain, side view. White matter is composed of myelin-coated nerve cell fibres that carry information between nerve cells in the cerebrum of the brain (top half of image) and the brain stem (bottom centre). This image was created by an MRI scanner sensitised to the movement of water around the brain. Blue represents neural pathways from the top to the bottom of the brain, green represents pathways from the front (left) to the back (right), and red shows pathways between the right and left hemispheres of the brain.

This is an image of the walkway leading to the Key West Museum of Arts and History in Key West, Florida. A history of the building and its cultural significance can be found on my previous image. All images are taken with a Canon 5D III (full frame) and a Canon 7D II (crop frame) using a variety of Canon L-Series lenses, and Tamron and Sigma pro-line lenses; processed in RAW with ACR, PSC, Photomatix, and a variety of other imaging software. *Well you know, you can take the boy away from his planet, but you just can't take the memories of home away from the boy. Everytime I look at this hollovid of the old homestead, I know its just waiting for my return. Its a hard life out there on the rim, we only have a short growing season, the rest of the time is snow & ice. And there's never big markets for Beldon Beans, but still gotta be better than life here in Titan City. But then we go where the work is, not much call for stardrive programers back home. But boy do I ever miss those winter moons on Gibbon's World! Just a photo and some sculpted fractals. And as with all my work, inspired by the great unknown ....Beyond the Bounds of Earth.*
