So, growing up I knew of two different famous men with the same name. Mike Myers, the comedian and actor best known for "Wayne's World" and ,of course, the "Austin Powers" movies. Then, there is Michael Myers, the serial killer in the "Halloween" movies. When I first saw a Halloween VHS tape with the name Michael Myers on it as a kid, I was confused for a few seconds. I thought, "Does Mr. Myers have a night job I don't know about? I thought he was a comedic actor." Well, I found out they were two completely different people. One is fictional and the other is not. Two plates Zinc plate inked up in a mix of colours. Second plate rolled leaves from the garden, which bring their own colour to the print when mixed with the ink on the plate. The chance print came out beautiful. Mmmmmm, now what to do with it. I have an idea. Stay tuned...... Monoprint on Stonehenge paper. On top of which I have drawn pastels. I know the pastels come through the strongest but it is actually a monoprint which I thought needed more colour.

Native Grasslands 1 is part of a series of monoprints with Australian Native Grasslands as their theme. In the Australian Capital Territory only 3% of native grasslands remain. The monoprint was produced on a gelli plate using acrylic flow paints.

Each was created using a gelli plate and hand pulled to produce one original monotype print and one ghost print. I chose to print in blue as I had in mind the colour of architectural drawings.

Techno 3 is my third in a series of individual monotype prints with technology, industry and steam punk as the main themes. Each was created using a gelli plate and hand pulled to produce one original monotype print and one ghost print. I chose to print in blue as I had in mind the colour of architectural drawings. I liked the ghost prints as much as the originals so decided to post them here as well - they may look good in the home decor range when matched with the originals - light and dark colour contrast with the same design.

Recently I've been experimenting with printmaking on tetra pak, it's useful because you can destroy it in various ways and come up with very beautiful images, it's a widely acessible material and extremely sensible. For example, I burned, cut, slashed and smashed to name a few of the techniques I used.

Xerox transfer print using antique and vintage doilies on paper. I then used black and brown thread to stitch through the paper to add outlines and texture.
