A tricky capture! Not for the faint hearted and shot from a precarious and slippy point on pen-mon. Working in post, my interpretation on this became one of a more blue ocean setting. Inspired in thinking, by that of the 'great wave off Kanagawa tidal painting' by the Japanese artist Hokusai.

Sea Spray

Here's a bit of an abstract one, but it really represents our morning. A gorgeous sunrise and a lot of waves from the incoming tide that seemed determined to take us (and our cameras) out to sea with it!

This was my favorite movie during my childhood.

Strong February winds and rough seas produced some spectacular waves which crashed against the lighthouse and the piers protecting the mouth of the River Blyth in Northumberland on the North East coast of England. This image was shot from the beach at high tide and converted to black and white.

This image was taken on a very blustery day in January with the North Sea crashing into Tynemouth Pier and the early morning sunshine lighting up the sea outside the shadow of the pier itself . Work on the pier was started in 1854 and it was originally curved, but storm damage to the central part of the pier led to it being re-built in a straight line. The image has been given an artistic filter in the style of Cezanne for something just a little bit different.

This image was taken on a very blustery day in January with the North Sea crashing into Tynemouth Pier, with the early morning light casting a golden glow in the sky which is reflecting off the pier and the waves. Work on the pier was started in 1854 and it was originally curved, but storm damage to the central part of the pier led to it being re-built in a straight line. The image is also available in colour.
