I was on my first visit to Utah, it was my first day, with a visit to Dead Horse Point State Park on the agenda. Getting out of the car and looking over the cliff and down into the valley was a stunning introduction to the extraordinary landscape. The scale and the colour in the panorama were truly breathtaking. This image is a composite of several images captured from near to the visitor centre, taking in perhaps 180° of view. I suppose I didn't know where to stop as I scanned the horizon with my camera. The word 'awesome' barely covers the emotion.

Horse

One of the most visited places in Bangkok is the Wat Arun temple complex, of which the central and four smaller prangs there are perhaps the most visually extraordinary structures. The prangs are encrusted with brightly coloured porcelain fragments and seashells, all arranged in the most intricate patterns. This image, captured on a wonderfully clear, cloudless day, is of one of the four smaller prangs, and shows two of the four horsemen that adorn its sides, sitting in portals, which appear to be guarding the prang.
