Mono Lake is a saline soda lake in Mono County, California, formed at least 760,000 years ago as a terminal lake in an endorheic basin. Lots of water at this time of year...

The full frontal view, so to speak, of the point where everything takes a sharp left turn.

The terraces in winter, when there's a lot more water flowing - we had snow at Christmas which has started to melt... This was taken with my new Sigma 35mm f1.4, which I am really pleased with.

The babbling brook below the travertine terraces - or rather the raging torrent at the moment in winter...

Here’s a photo of Mono Lake, found in California, in Yosemite National Park, near Sierra Nevada mountain range. The salt formations found there give the place a beautiful design. The water reflects the almost clear, blue sky, with just a few clouds here and there. Further away, in the landscape, the mountains are visible.
