Floating Weeds Merch
Description: A minimalist graphic tribute to Yasujiro Ozu’s Floating Weeds (1959), inspired by one of the film’s beautifully composed seaside moments. Two figures fish quietly beneath an expanse of empty space, rendered in a restrained cream, red and yellow palette. For fans of Ozu, classic Japanese cinema, quiet filmmaking and beautifully composed arthouse film. 15 SEO tags
Description: Jasujiro Ozu is a favorite film director of many film directors. Seemingly ordinary stories are elevated to the level of poetry and spirituality. In the 2012 poll by magazine Sight & Sound, Ozu's Tokyo Story was voted the best film of all time. His other famous titles are Late Spring, Floating Weeds, An Autumn Afternoon.

Description: The great Yasujirō Ozu once compared himself to a tofu maker, quietly producing his own familiar kind of cinema. My original hand-drawn illustration takes that wonderfully modest self-description literally, transforming the legendary Japanese director into a bespectacled block of tofu wearing his unmistakable hat.
