Winter Branches and My Rock in the Snow by Debra Martz The snow was blowing earlier; just enough to fill one of the rounded cavities in the face of the rock. This is one of my favorite backyard rocks peeking through the branches of a small crape myrtle (crepe myrtle). I am a bit of a rock hound and when I spotted this one years ago I had to have it as I immediately saw two eyes and a smile. It was much whiter years ago and I named this one Casper the Friendly Rock! No, I don't name all of my rocks. The Boscolo Budapest Hotel, formerly the New York Palace (Hungarian: New York-palota) is a luxury hotel on the Grand Boulevard of Budapest's Erzsébet körút part, under Erzsébet körút 9-11, in the 7th district of Budapest, Hungary. Built by the New York Life Insurance Company as a local head office, its Café in the ground floor named New York Café (Hungarian: New York Kávéház) was a longtime center for Hungarian literature and poetry, almost from its opening on October 23, 1894 to its closure in 2001, to reconstruct it into a luxury hotel, as it is now. The Hungarian Parliament Building (Hungarian: Országház, which translates to House of the Country or House of the Nation) is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube. It is currently the largest building in Hungary and still the tallest building in Budapest. A still functional, and obviously designed with Art Deco in mind, Bridge in Sacramento. The temperatures reached 105 degrees (F) that weekend so I went out in the relatively cool morning air (if you can call 80 degrees cool, I was still sweating quite a bit) to capture the essence of the bridge which was glowing yellow in the mid-morning light.. The caves on Elephanta Island, just offshore from Mumbai, India, are stunning. Carved out of rock cliffs, the caves, there are several, have their origins in both Buddhist and Hindu worship. Today, This cave, "Cave No. 1", dates back to the 4th or 5th centuries. the caves are designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Sather Tower, Berkeley California, 10/1/2011 Sather Tower is a campanile (bell and clock tower) on the University of California, Berkeley campus. It is more commonly known as The Campanile due to its resemblance to the Campanile di San Marco in Venice, and serves as UC Berkeley's most recognizable symbol. It was completed in 1914 and first opened to the public in 1917. The tower stands 307 feet (93.6 m) tall, making it the third tallest bell and clock-tower in the world. It is the second northernmost and second oldest public bridge in Budapest. The second permanent bridge of Budapest, a distinguished example of French Neo-Baroque bridge-building in Hungary. Its construction was started twenty years after the inauguration of the Chain Bridge. It connects Szent István Boulevard and Margit Boulevard, also touching the Margaret Island. This is a depiction of several skeletal trees, each ready to meet winter. The white sky stands in stark contrast with the branches of the trees as they trace their way across the image.
