It's All Hallow’s Eve and sometimes when people dress up for the holiday, they are actually donning their true persona. It is the witch's magic which we see at work here. The ambiguous nature of whether she is harming or healing the pirate in the foreground adds mystery. This piece was one that I did in with marker and digital elements based on the vintage art from New England and early American ad campaigns.

Peace and wisdom are embodied in this design This particular Buddha symbolizes the Buddhist Monk Amoghasiddhi. He is one of the Wisdom Buddhas. His green robes symbolize balance and his hands are placed in the meditation or contemplation position. His role is the pacification of evil.

Years before I was born, my mom opened a fortune cookie that read, "One beam of sunshine will banish the darkness". She kept it with her and committed it to memory. When I was three years old I was diagnosed with Leukemia, a type of cancer. It put a lot of stress on my family and sometimes we would wonder if anything good would come out of this experience. Eventually we saw it. Throughout this time, there were so many organizations and people who helped and supported us and really helped us through. They renewed our faith in the goodness of the world and inspired us to push past this dark time. This design is in honor of all of the beams of sunlight in the world, banishing the darkness from many peoples' lives. It is a remin...
