Jollibee Hats
Description: "Bida-bida" is a colloquial term in Filipino (Tagalog) used to describe someone who constantly seeks attention or tries to be the center of attention in a way that can be perceived as annoying or boastful. It is often used to refer to a person who always wants to be in the spotlight, frequently volunteers themselves for tasks, or tries to show off their abilities, sometimes unnecessarily. The term can carry a negative connotation, implying that the person is overzealous or excessively eager to be noticed. For context, the relation of the term with Jollibee came from Jollibee's tag line, "Bida ang Saya", which means "Joy takes the center stage."
Description: Your favorite bee reimagined, where I illustrated what the inside of his face might look like - with a chickenjoy as his brain shape! The big Kanji letters in orange means "Jollibee" in Japanese. The smaller Kanji letters in circle means "chickenjoy." I remixed this for all the Filipino, Filams, Filoz, etc, who want to reconnect the motherland. Description: A rendition of our favorite cute Filipino fastfood bee throwing a spicy chicken. The copy “Masyado kang bida-bida” translates to “You are such an annoying show-off”. Bida-bida comes from bida "protagonist, main character" so bida-bida would mean something along the lines of trying to be the center of attention, usually obnoxiously. Description: Bawal umihi dito: It is an ubiquitous injunction in urban spaces, often boldly painted onto walls, and it translates to "it is forbidden to urinate here". The audience? Filipino men, many of whom continue to take the liberty of emptying their bladders in front of walls, electric posts, and yes, jeepney tires. Go to any densely-populated nooks of the metropolis and there's no denying the pungent odor of piss, which ironically juxtaposes with the aforementioned sign, as if to affirm its relevance by its violation.
