At some point in the late 23rd century, the Shangri-La and its sister ship Surprise performed a mission near a ringed planet within a star system. The location was the site of a large, industrial space station and its support craft.
Description: Shangri La Vintage Travel Poster - Shangri La is a supposed place in Tibet's Kunlun Mountains, described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon by the British author James Hilton. Hilton portrays Shangri La as a mystical, harmonious valley, gently guided from a lamasery, enclosed in the western end of the Kunlun Mountains.
Description: The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) was a 24th century Federation Galaxy-class starship operated by Starfleet, and the fifth Federation starship to bear the name Enterprise. During its career, the Enterprise served as the Federation flagship and was in service from 2363 to 2371. The Enterprise was built at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards orbiting Mars in the Sol system. The construction was a massive undertaking, involving thousands of people across disciplines. (TNG: "Booby Trap", "Eye of the Beholder") Construction was supervised by Commander Quinteros. Dr. Leah Brahms was responsible for much of the Enterprise's warp propulsion system design.
