Description: Back in 2016 I produced a series of portraits based on the classic monsters. This is the fifth piece. Boris Karloff's second most prominant role. The Mummy goes through two makeup designs in this film and it was difficult to choose which version to paint here. I chose his more human appearence in the end because you only see his Mummy form briefly in the film and that image has been done to death (no pun intended)

Mummy movies are usually centered on an ancient Egyptian priest who is accidentally resurrected, bringing with him a powerful curse, and the ensuing efforts of heroic archaeologists to stop him.
