Description: The Tudor dynasty oversaw a transformative period of English history, with monarchs including Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I. This era was marked by religious and political upheaval, including the English Reformation and the establishment of the Church of England. Henry VIII's six marriages and his break from the Catholic Church are particularly well-known. Description: For this block print I have based my design of Tudor style embroidery. Many of the Tudors clothes were embroidered with sweeping vines and floral patterns. Here you can see a small bird perched among a flowering vine. Done in black and white it also reminds me a lot of Tudor style blackwork. I've recreated this bird motif as a hand-carved block print and printed it by hand before scanning it to make this design.
