HMS Belfast moored as a museum ship on the River Thames in London. This Town-class light cruiser was built for the Royal Navy by Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast and launched in 1938 on St Patrick's day. She served in the Second World War and the Korean War before entering reserve in 1963.

Unfortunately the water was a bit murky but it gives a contrast against the blues and greys that dominate the top half of this image. This was captured on another jump in the car trip down to London to see what the skies gave me. All in accordance with permissions in place with the respective parties concerned.

The sun sets on another busy day in the City of London, casting an evening glow on Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast and the River Thames. Tower Bridge in the center of the picture is one of London's defining landmarks and was built over 125 years ago. To the right of the picture is HMS Belfast, a light cruiser built in 1939, serving with the Royal Navy during the Second World War, entering reserve in 1963. HMS Belfast was brought to London as a museum ship and opened to the public in 1971.
