This is a photo from Mesolonghi, from the lagoon of Mesolonghi, to be more precise. Mesolonghi is a very important town, with a great history. It is the only town of Greece, declared "Hiera Polis" (Sacred town)because of the heroic fight of its inhabitants during the years of the Greek strugle for Indipendance agains the Ottoman Empire (more about it in the very near future). The lagoon of Mesolonghi is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have seen in my country. Lots of fish there, but also some fine fisherman's stilt huts, called "Peladas", like the one in the photo. Unfortunately, this beautiful "Pelada" doesn't exist anymore
