Osgood is, quite simply, an ode to every whovian. She's only appeared in a few episode since the 50th Anniversary Episode, Day of the Doctor - her debut. But she's become a fan favorite because she is a reflection of us (whovians) placed into the story. It is as though Moffat decided to pluck a cosplaying whovian from Comic Con and put her into the narrative. That said, Ingrid Oliver is an excellent actor. I don't want to take away from her performances by implying that she's basically a random Whovian. Her character is, quite simply, the best of us. In early 2016, this painting will appear in an episode of Doctor Who Notes (it's likely going to be the Zygon Invasion or the Zygon Inversion) on BBC America.
