*Old Fire Station, Brentford, August 2020* The Old Fire Station at number 55 High Street, Brentford (London, England) was opened in 1898 at a cost of about £3,000. The Fire Station is a striking building by anyone's standards, with its red brick arches and red terracotta tiles. The fire engines based here were originally horse-drawn, the first motor engine being purchased in 1924. The building was modified several times between the 1920s and 1950s, and was used by the Ambulance service between 1965 and the 1980s. It became a listed building in 1990, and is now a popular restaurant and bar. Date: 2nd August 2020.
