An absinthe fountain is a reservoir for storing and dispensing ice water used for drinking absinthe. Like other paraphernalia associated with absinthe, they became widespread in the second half of the 19th century, when the problem of absintheism (absinthe alcoholism) of the urban lower classes arose. By using such exquisite objects, the bourgeoisie sought to emphasize their social status.

We celebrate the drink known as “the green fairy.” Absinthe originated in Switzerland in the 18th century and rose to popularity in early 20th century France, especially with artists and writers. The drink enjoys a mystique and is often associated with bohemian culture, making it an especially fun drink to enjoy today!
