Free Church of Scotland Assembly Hall, Edinburgh, Scotland. A 19th century church (also known as St Columba's Free Church), situated just off the Royal Mile at the junction of Castlehill, Johnston Terrace and Upper Bow. Designed by Thomas Hamilton, built between 1843-5 with alterations in 1908 by Thomas Ruskin. An Ecclesiastical building still in use as such. Originally called the Free St John's Church, built immediately after the Disruption of 1843. Hamilton's pulpit was sketched by Ruskin, who thought it an 'abomination.' The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU; Korean: 세계평화통일가정연합), widely known as the Unification Church (통일교), is a new religious movement derived from Christianity, whose members are called Unificationists or informally Moonies. Sun Myung Moon (1920–2012) started amassing followers after the Second World War ended and, on 1 May 1954 in Seoul, South Korea, officially founded the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity (HSA-UWC), the Unification Church's full name until 1994. It has a presence in approximately 100 countries around the world.[1] Its leaders are Moon (prior to his death) and his wife Hak Ja Han, whom their followers honor with the title "True Parents".

Queen's Cross Church, 870 Garscube Road, Glasgow G20 is a former Church of Scotland parish church. It's known as The Mackintosh Church as it's the only church designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh to have been built. It's the home of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society with a cafe and shop.

I discovered this small historic church in the rural community of Uigg (pronounced U-igg) during my travels of Prince Edward Island, Canada. The elegant simplicity of the Uigg Baptist Church is a testament to the Scottish pioneers who settled the area in 1829, coming from their home in Uig, Isle of Skye. Constructed in 1874, it has the original clapboard siding, with sets of 3 Gothic Revival windows complete with glazing bars and original glass on each side. It is registered as a Historic Place, in the province of Prince Edward Island. A digital pencil drawing of the parish church of St Mary the Virgin at Ipsden in Oxfordshire on the southern edge of the Chiltern Hills. The church overlooks the Thames Valley and is surrounded by farmland. Originally a small Saxon chapel, it was enlarged in the 12th century with stones from a nearby church which had fallen into disrepair.

Inside are the 'Aldworth Giants' - effigies on the tombs of the De La Beche family dating from medieval times. They are supposedly life size - but some of the knights are over 7ft! Many of these were damaged by Parliamentary troops during the Civil War. The village of Aldworth sits above the Thames Valley on the Berkshire Downs. The image is finished as a pastel painting.

This lovely C12th Norman church stands in the centre of the village, and is not far from the Kennet and Avon Canal. Carry on walking down the hill here and you cross Vicarage Bridge over the waterway to join the towpath leading to the lock. Kintbury's nearest town is Newbury, the administrative centre for West Berkshire.

The church of St Mary sits squarely in the centre of the village of Kingclere in north Hampshire. It dates from about 1120-40 - its Norman origins being clearly seen in its square tower, cruciform plan and small round-headed windows. The Church was, however, extensively rebuilt in the C19th - apparently to recreate it as it was in the C12th. The village can trace its history to King Alfred's time as it was mentioned in his will.

Winter Church

St Pauls Parish Charlottetown PEI by Debra Martz This historical anglican church was constructed in 1896, marking the third building on the same location. The initial structure was built in 1769, making this parish the oldest on the Island. The church has a sturdy exterior composed of large sandstone blocks. And just look at how green things are. We were here in October, a few days before Canada's Thanksgiving, to see the colorful fall foliage. But, nature has its own time schedule!
