Colour Reduction Hoodies

I spotted several white Cockatoos in my local park. usually when someone approaches a lookout Cockatoo will begin squarking to warn the others, however this time they were all too busy feasting on the fresh plum fruit of this tree.

this is from my original reduction linocut, made with Akua intaglio inks on Fabriano Rosapina 220 gsm paper. an original drawing, carved and printed by hand by me in Sydney Australia.This is inspired by a close encounter I once had several years ago when I was fishing offshore in a small fishing Boat. This humpback Whale came alongside almost within arm reach and slowly rose up out of the water and surveyed us sitting in our boat fishing. Its hugh eye looked forwards and backwards along the boat and at us. It then slipped back into the ocean and continued on its journey to the great barrier reef for the winter. Beautiful animals.

this is original art work by me. It is from a limited edition of 10 prints. It is a handmade reduction linocut using 4 colours. The image was hand drawn, carved and printed from a linoplate by hand onto acid free paper, using Akua intaglio inks. Under the Jetty' five colour reduction linocut was created from a reference photo I took at Port Noarlunga Jetty, South Australia. I enjoy being under a jetty, protected from the sun with the smells of wet wood, sounds of water lapping at its posts and beach, and seeing the shadows that are created in the water from the structure. This print was a lot of work with careful colour and cutting consideration.
