As the Earth crosses the tail of a comet, previously inanimate machines suddenly spring to life. Chaos sets in as machines of all kinds begin attacking humans. At the Dixie Boy Truck Stop in Wilmington, North Carolina, a small group of people hold up inside and do their best to plan their survival as the rabid machines swarm outside. This is the gist of 1986's horror comedy, Maximum Overdrive, which was set in and around the Dixie Boy Truck Stop and based on King's 1973 short story, Trucks.

I grew up near Wilmington, NC, the filming location for "Maximum Overdrive" and have always been a fan of this movie, so it made sense to do a shirt in tribute to this movie and also as kind of a tribute to our local film industry.

This original design is inspired by the famous horror movie of the 80s where suddenly animated machines turn from man's best friends into his worst enemies, thirsting for human blood. Huge trucks are especially ruthless, crushing everyone in their path. This design features a green goblin truck. Maximum Overdrive is a 1986 American comedy horror film written and directed by S.King.
