Description: “Watch Your Tongue! Remember! The Enemy is Listening.” (Hebrew.) Poster, circa 1948, published by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to encourage people to be careful with their words. Designed by Yosef, public domain, via PPPA. This is a wartime security poster produced around Israel’s 1948 War of Independence. Its design is mid-century modern graphic style that draws on European modernist and expressionist poster traditions. It uses bold, simplified silhouettes, a limited high-contrast palette, and direct pictorial symbolism for a clear public safety message. Using a variety of graphic design tools, I created a restored and enlarged reproduction of this historical Israeli poster, based on a rare photo of the original poster in an archive.
