Little Bee Eater Hoodies

This is a vector design of a Little Bee-eater bird. The scientific name for this type of bird is Merops Pusillus, and it comes from the Meropidae family. These birds are residents in much of Sub-Saharan Africa and they should not be confused with the Little Green Bee-eater bird, Merops Orientalis. It takes a lot of time to make these designs, and when others show their support, it gives me more motivation to keep creating animal art. Pair of Little Bee-eaters, Merops pusillus, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, East Africa. It reaches a length of 15-17 cm, which makes it the smallest African bee-eater. Sexes are alike. There have been estimated to be between 60-80 million Little Bee-eaters. It breeds in open country with bushes, preferably near water. No more bees, wasps or hornets for you! The little bee-eater will take care of all of them. Probably flies too. Not that YOU'd ever have a problem with those! The little bee-eater tunnels a snug nest in a sandy embankment, and they roost cheek-to-jowl in a row, looking like a cute caterpillar.

A collection of African bee-eaters - Carmine, Böhms, Swallow-tailed, White-fronted and Little bee-eaters. All are taken from my own reference photos (therefore I have seen them all). I wanted to create a simple design (as with all of my Graphic Nature series) to highlight the different colours on show in Africa.
