Mozart Manuscript

When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one.

This bird with roses is based off the Gladzor Gospels. The Gladzor Gospel is an illuminated manuscript created in the 1300s in the Armenian region. The manuscript is a lovely piece of illumination and calligraphy with bright, vibrant colors. This bird design comes from a small section of the front cover depicting birds among a series of roses. I've recreated it as a hand-carved block print and printed it by hand before scanning it to make this design.

Within the ink-stained pages of a seasoned doctor's manuscript, lies a treasury of knowledge, bestowed upon future generations to unravel the secrets of medicine and compassion.
