Description: The Gorgon Medusa was a mythological monster who would transform you in stone if she'd look at you. Her hair were braided with snakes. Perseus got close to her with the help of a mirror, he slayed her and cut her head off, then went to rescue Andromeda - but this is an other story ! Description: The High Priestess is a card that is associated with intuition and the subconscious in its upright position. When reversed, it represents a lack of inner voice and repressed feelings. For this card, we decided to portray Medusa as the titular character. Here, Medusa sits upon a throne of her enemies who were turned to stone. These statues act as the “veil” that conceals what lies beyond. Her feminine beauty intertwined with her monstrous intensity represent her intuition, fertility, and divine femininity. Behind her throne on either side, we see two pillars. They are marked with the Greek letters “Π” “ά.” These are the first letters in the Greek spelling of Persephone and Hades. Hades is the God of the Dead, while Persephone is the Godde...
Description: Once a beautiful maiden, Medusa was cursed by Athena to become a monstrous Gorgon. Writhing snakes replaced her hair, fangs and claws replaced human features, and her gaze turned men to stone. Though fearsome, Medusa's story highlights the danger of unchecked beauty and the potential injustice faced by women.
