The San Francisco Seals were a minor league hockey team which played in the Western Hockey League from 1961 to 1967.

The Appleton Foxes played in the Midwest League for nearly three decades. The team used the Fox Cities Foxes moniker from 1958-1961, and again from 1963-1966. In 1995 the team changed its name to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

The Tucson Toros were a professional baseball team based in Tucson, Arizona, in the United States. The original Toros were a Triple-A minor league baseball team in the Pacific Coast League from 1969 to 1997, where they won the PCL Championship in 1991 and 1993. They were affiliated with several Major League Baseball teams over the years, most notably with the Houston Astros. A later team named the Toros played in the independent Golden Baseball League.

The first team from the Sunshine State known as the Jacksonville Suns arrived in the city by way of Havana, Cuba, and Jersey City, New Jersey. Following the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the Havana Sugar Kings of the Triple-A International League relocated to become the Jersey City Jerseys during the 1960 season. The franchise folded after the 1961 campaign and was bought by a local group headed by Samuel W. Wolfson, previously the owner of the Jacksonville Braves. The Suns played their home games at Jacksonville Baseball Park, which was renamed Sam W. Wolfson Baseball Park after Wolfson's death in 1963. As a Triple-A affiliate, the Suns ended their first season by winning the 1962 International League pennant with a league-best 94–60 record.

The Mutual Base Ball Club of New York was a leading American baseball club almost throughout its 20-year history. It was established during 1857, the year of the first baseball convention, just too late to be a founding member of the National Association of Base Ball Players. It was a charter member of both the first professional league in 1871 and the National League in 1876.

Night Sky Constellations

The Cleveland Spiders were an American professional baseball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The team competed at the major league level from 1887 to 1899, first for two seasons as a member of the now-defunct American Association (AA), followed by eleven seasons in the National League (NL). Early names for the team included the Forest Citys and Blues. The name Spiders itself emerged early in the team's inaugural NL season of 1889, owing to new black-and-gray uniforms and the skinny, long-limbed look of many players (thereby evoking the spider arachnid). National League Park served as the team's home for its first four seasons until the opening of League Park in 1891.

Cartoon bell ringer with funny caption. A lot of ringing towers are in a fairly grotty state with cobwebs, pealing whitewash paint, cracks in walls, threadbare carpeting, bat droppings, ladybird infestations, tatty ropes, odd struck bells, poor lighting and sound proofing. Given that I can do little to assist in tidying up church ringing chambers I propose smartening up the bell ringers instead. To that end I have designed a range of colourful, warm, attractive clothing for ringers to wear and enjoy. This one is best suited to a black or dark coloured fabric.

The Rockford Expos was the initial moniker of the minor league baseball team located in Rockford, Illinois from 1988 to 1999. The Expos were Rockford's first entity in the Midwest League. Rockford was an affiliate of the Montreal Expos (1988–1992), Kansas City Royals (1993–1994), Chicago Cubs (1995–1998) and Cincinnati Reds (1999). In 2000, the Rockford franchise moved to Dayton, Ohio, where the franchise played in the Midwest League and continues play today as the Dayton Dragons.

Hüsker Dü is an American punk rock band formed in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, in 1979. The band's regular members are guitarist/vocalist Bob Mold, bassist/vocalist Greg Norton, and drummer/vocalist Grant Hart.

The city of Mansfield, Ohio, was home to minor league baseball teams, known by various nicknames, which played periodically between 1887 and 1912, and between 1935 and 1941. The team first began play in the Ohio State League in 1887 as simply Mansfield. In 1906, the city was represented in then Ohio–Pennsylvania League with the Mansfield Giants. The club changed its name to the Mansfield Pioneers in 1907 until 1909. The team was once again renamed the Mansfield Reformers in 1910 and the Mansfield Brownies in 1911. In 1912 the club moved back to the Ohio State League for their final season of this era.

The Boise Pilots were a minor league baseball team in the western United States, based in Boise, Idaho. They played in the Pioneer League for a total of 11 seasons between 1939 and 1954. They were unaffiliated with any major league team, and played at the Class C level. Their home venue was originally named Airway Park in 1939, and in 1952 was renamed Joe Devine Airway Park.

On August 31, midway through the 1937 fall season, Dai Tokyo changed its name to the Lion Baseball Club when it was acquired by Komajiro Tamura, with sponsorship by Lion Toothpaste. Late in the 1940 season, the Japan Baseball League outlawed English nicknames (due to rising tensions with the West). Owner Tamura refused to change the team's name, insisting that "Lion" is Japanese (In actuality, he wanted to honor the team's sponsorship contract with the Lion Corporation.)

The Washington Senators baseball team was one of the American League's eight charter franchises. The club was founded in Washington, D.C. in 1901 as the Washington Senators. In 1905, the team changed its official name to the Washington Nationals. The name "Nationals" appeared on the uniforms for only two seasons, and was then replaced with the "W" logo for the next 52 years. However, the names "Senators", "Nationals" and shorter "Nats" were used interchangeably by fans and media for the next 60 years.

The Richmond Robins were a professional ice hockey team based in Richmond, Virginia. They were a member of the American Hockey League for five seasons from 1971–72 to 1975–76. Their cross-state rivals in the AHL were the Virginia Wings. The Robins were previously known as the Quebec Aces, until the parent club, Philadelphia Flyers transferred the Aces to Virginia after the 1970–71 season.

The Joplin Miners was the primary name of the minor league baseball team in Joplin, Missouri that played for 49 seasons between 1901 and 1954. Baseball Hall of Fame Inductees Mickey Mantle and Whitey Herzog played for Joplin. Professional baseball returned to Joplin and Joe Becker Stadium when the Joplin Blasters began play in 2015.

The Austin Texans were a minor league professional football team that played in the AFA from 1977 to 1981. The American Football Association (AFA) was a professional American football minor league that operated from 1977 to 1983. The AFA was concentrated in the southern United States and served as the second tier of professional football. The league played its games on Saturday nights in the summer (beginning its season Memorial Day weekend and ending in August) to avoid direct competition against other football in the fall. The AFA ended operations in 1983.

The San Jose Missions baseball teams of 1977 to 1981 were actual two separate franchises. The first was a Class AAA Pacific Coast League, formerly the Sacramento Solons (1974-1976) of the PCL. The team was an Oakland A’s farm club in 1977 and a Seattle Mariners affiliate in 1978. The team was then sold and moved to Utah to become the Ogden A’s. Then a Class A team stepped in and became the San Jose Missions, retaining the original affiliation with the Mariners. This team survived until the 1981 season when the Montreal Expos took over San Jose’s California League affiliation. The ball club was re-branded as the San Jose Expos for the 1982 campaign.
