The jacarandas do a good job of supporting the beautiful old architecture of the Town Hall in spring. Sydney, NSW, Australia. Canon 5D MkIII The construction of Sydney Town Hall commenced in 1869, and it was designed to be a symbol of the wealth and status of the city. The building was constructed in two stages, Stage I: 1868 - 1878 and Stage II: the Main Hall, 1885 - 1890. The Town Hall design was the result of a competition, won by J. H. Willson. The Second Empire style design (including four eastern pavilions, clock tower, vestibule, reception room and Council Chamber) was modified by the City Engineer to reduce the cost. Bassano Del Grappa with its Brenta's river running under the historical old bridge in a beautiful winter holiday evening. I love how the construction workers decided to decorate the whole crane with festive lights for the holiday seasons!

Trieste is a really beautiful city full of culture and history, the architecture all over the city (including a castle!) is incredible and the local people with their fun accent and incredible stories were very fascinating. This photo captures the last hour on the promenade of Trieste before taking the train back home - it was such a great sunny and clear day and when the evening came, the sunset did not disappoint. Amazing shades of pink, purple, blue and orange!
