The sheep pen is located next to the River Coquet which runs through the Coquet Valley of Northumberland, close to the Scottish Borders. The sheep pens are located on the valley floor. The sheep are moved from the surrounding hills during what can be very severe winters.

Warkworth Castle is a ruined medieval building, occupying a loop in the River Coquet in Northumberland. The castle was built in the mid 12th century in a charter between the years 1157 and 1164. Warkworth Castle is a ruined medieval building in the town of the same name in the English county of Northumberland. The town and castle occupy a loop of the River Coquet, less than a mile from England's north-east coast.
