Bishop's Palace Moat, Wells Number of views as of 9th May 2018 = 525. The Bishop's Palace in Wells (Somerset, England) has been the home of the Bishops of Bath and Wells for over 800 years. A Grade 1 listed building, the building of the palace began in the year 1210 AD on land adjoining the city's cathedral. The walls, gatehouse and moat were added in the 14th century. Originally, the palace was surrounded by a medieval deer park. Much of the palace is now open to the public as a tourist attraction, and is well worth a visit. Date: 12th July 2015.

The Church of St Mary, East Quantoxhead, May 2021 The Grade 2 listed, Anglican church of St Mary, in the village of East Quantoxhead (Somerset, England) was built in the 14th century on the site of an earlier church building. The church is adjacent to the Court House, home to the lords of the manor. Restoration work took place in the 17th and 19th centuries. Date: 26th May 2021.

The Pack Horse Bridge, Allerford The charming mediaeval pack horse bridge in the village of Allerford, between Minehead and Porlock, West Somerset, England (within the Exmoor National Park), Date: 25th August 2018.

The conical hill of Glastonbury Tor, rising high above the surrounding Somerset levels is topped by St Michael's monument. The Tor is mentioned in Celtic mythology, particularly in myths linked to King Arthur. 19th February 2024.

Combining golf course, garden and wellness spa, Cedar Falls above the little Somerset village of Bishops Lydeard always strikes me for the many beautiful tall trees. This mighty cedar tree probably gave the place its name. (Nikon Coolpix P510)

Off the tourist trail, Bath has lots of interesting little corners and delightful little parks. This one lies across the Pulteney bridge, and at the far end of the grand terrace, behind a gallery. I'm guessing that this was once a toll booth for entering the park, but now it serves coffee! I've painted this in oil on a 10x12 inch board, a scale at which you may notice a few brush marks and not so straight lines!

Swansea vs Somerset Thanksgiving Tribute

This was one of the more interesting long exposures I took at Somerset Dam over Anzac weekend. The clouds were perfect for this type of photography and everyone was moving around quite a lot, which made for some interesting ghosts! I also liked the bit of lopsided-ness to the photo because it just seems to accentuate the clouds that much more.
