Draisine Dandy Horse, or Laufmaschine, around 1820. The Laufmaschine was invented by the German Baron Karl von Drais in 1817 and is considered the archetype of the bicycle.

This fun image was originally on the cover of “The Modern Bicycle” by Charles Spencer published 1877. Note the spent rabbit, the horse that can’t keep up, and the train in the background – SPEED! Nothing can beat the modern cycler! The book was in horrible shape, torn, dirty and scratched, so it took a lot of work to make this image presentable.

A lovely old print of a group out for a bike ride. It was a bit grungy so I cleaned it up and fixed the colors some.
