Description: As dune buggies gained in popularity in the late '60s, they began evolving from homebrewed backyard builds to professionally designed, purpose-built off-road vehicles. These consisted of everything from ready to assemble tube frames and fully welded frame assemblies to turnkey cars for everyone from the weekend warrior to the amateur racer looking to take the checkered flag. Anaheim, California's Sand Toys was one of the earliest full-feature shops catering to the dune buggy and sandrail crowd by offering everything they needed to make their off-road dreams happen as well as a full service department to get their cars ready for the weekend.
Description: Founded in 1922, Grant Performance Products consisted of everything from engine overhaul kits, piston rings, valve spring inserts, ignition systems, and safety helmets, but their single biggest hit came in 1962 when they introduced their custom steering wheels for dune buggies which later expanded to include models for the wider range of the general automotive aftermarket.
