I have a very soft spot for the hippo: I know they are very dangerous animals, but they do also look cute. Definitely one to admire from a safe distance, or as an image like this one. This image is from a Zentangle drawing done with a fineliner pen.

This is an old 8-ball design I made a few years back

The name “Zentangle” was formulated by Rick Roberts, a former monk and Maria Thomas, a very well qualified calligrapher, an illuminast, artist and designer. Zentangle art is easy to learn, relaxing and a fun way to create beautiful images by drawing lots of different structured patterns. The patterns are called tangles and consist out of combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, s-curves and orbs. These simple shapes are the "elemental strokes" and the patterns are drawn on small pieces of paper called "tiles." The tiles can be assemble into mosaics which makes this art even more stunning to look at. This particular design were modified into colour with software, to create colour zentangle artwork.

Zentangle Elephant-Oil Gold This little elephant started off as a regular black and white digital ink zentangle drawing. I then took my finished drawing into another app on my iPad called Brushstroke. The result is this little digital painting with an oil paint look. It is also done in a blue and pastel color version. This painting was done digitally on an iPad Air 2 using the apps ProCreate and Brushstroke. I also do custom commissions.
