The start of the day on the beach at Blyth in Northumberland. It was a very cold January morning and the tide was retreating leaving wet sand to reflect the blue sky.

This spectacular sunrise in Ocean City, New Jersey really did make it look like there was a fire in the sky. I love walking along the beach at dawn just for moments like this.

This photograph was taken at sunrise in late October on Lake Nockamixon in Bucks County, PA. The early morning mist coming off the lake and the golden light of the sun gives this picture a somewhat eerie feeling.

The artwork commemorates the old wooden staithes which stood on the spot when the port was the biggest exporter of coal in the world. The Tall Ship Williams II can be seen on the extreme right of the photograph.

Portland Head Light is a historic lighthouse in Fort Williams Park, Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

My first venture out with my new camera! The dawn sky was very interesting and the heavy frost on the wooden staithes was very slippery but I was pleased with this effort.
