This is part of the Thames Path, a long distance trail which follows the river all the way from Cricklade in the Cotswold Hills to the Thames Barrier in Greenwich, London. Cookham, on the banks of the Thames is a village lying in the furthest north-east corner of Berkshire. Here the artist Sir Stanley Spencer lived and painted, many of his works of art being set in the environs of this village. He is buried in the churchyard here.

Clovelly, Downhill, Black And White Clovelly is a privately owned harbour village in the Torridge district of Devon, England. The settlement and surrounding land belongs to John Rous who inherited it from his mother in 1983. He belongs to the Hamlyn family who have managed the village since 1738. The village, which is built into the wooded sea cliffs of the north Devon shore. The area has had human habitation since the Iron Age as there is a hillfort at Windbury Head northwest of the village. Following the Norman conquest of England in 1066, the Manor of Clovelly was acquired by William the Conqueror from its Saxon tenant. It was listed in the Domesday Book as "Clovelie". William would make a gift of the village to his wife

It's a long hike but it's worth the effort for such a wonderful view...and this is not even the top!

Great Malvern Priory in Malvern, Worcestershire, England, Black And White When venturing to new places it is always hard to know the best places to park so if I see a space I take it then try and work out the best way in to town. At Great Malvern we stopped on the top road of town and got this amazing view of what looks like half of the county. Great Malvern Priory in Malvern, Worcestershire, England, was a Benedictine monastery and is now an Anglican parish church. In 1949 it was designated a Grade I listed building. It is a dominant building in the Great Malvern Conservation area.

The Scottish National Trail is a 536 mile long-distance path extending the length of Scotland from York Yetholm to Cape Wrath. The remote north-end of the trail is more challenging and requires backpacking. Great for hikers, trekkers, and backpackers, this is a nice memory keepsake of your long-distance hiking adventure.

Bakewell Town, Derbyshire, Peak District, England The Derbyshire town of Bakewell started as a Saxon settlement. It was called Beadeca’s wella, which meant Beadeca’s springs. Baedeca must have been a Saxon who settled by the warm springs which rise at Bakewell where limestone meets shale. Bakewell was mentioned in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, a kind of national diary in 924. At that time King Edward the Elder ordered that a fort should be built at Bakewell.
