This is a modern version of a logo for the Staten Island Stapletons, an NFL team from 1929 to 1932. Essentially asking what if they had survived to the current days.

The Staten Island Stapletons also known as the Staten Island Stapes were a professional American football team founded in 1915 that played in the National Football League from 1929 to 1932. The team was based in the Stapleton section of Staten Island. They played under the shortened nickname the "Stapes" the final two seasons. Jack Shapiro, who was a blocking back for the Stapletons, was the shortest player in NFL history.

Friartown!

Providence had a very odd logo that I've never truly been able to track the origin of. A weird dog / dog man that is unrelated to steam rollers or the town of providence, it's so odd that it defies reinvention. This drawing was in a program between Providence and Pottsville, back when both fielded NFL teams. The color fill was not a part of the original cartoon but both orange and gray were team colors.
