Brian Head Peak - CCC Lookout- Cedar Breaks - Utah by Debra Martz From the signage: "Brian Head Peak. Elevation 11,307 Feet. The structure before you was built in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). From this location you can see parts of Utah, Nevada and Arizona. Renovation project conducted by the 1995 Siearra Club Southwest Service Trip." The views from this lookout were expansive and beautiful!! The Mormon Churches Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah Did you know? The walls of the temple are 9 feet thick at the base and 6 feet at the top. Each granite block weighs between 2,500 and 5,600 pounds and was hauled by oxen, and later by railroad, from a granite quarry in Little Cottonwood Canyon, 20 miles southeast of Temple Square. The long and laborious process of building the 170-room Salt Lake Temple began in 1853 and continued for 40 years until its completion in 1893.

Laugharne Castle, Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, Wales Laugharne Castle (Welsh: Castell Talacharn) is in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The castle, located on the estuary of the River Tâf, was originally established in 1116. It was rebuilt as a Norman stronghold. There have been many alterations since then, including becoming a Tudor fortified manor house in the sixteenth century. The original castle was established by 1116 as the castle of Robert Courtemain, who is recorded to have entrusted its care to the Welshman Bleddyn ap Cedifor. The castle was also the meeting place of Henry II of England and Rhys ap Gruffudd in 1171–1172, where they agreed a treaty of peace. Lick Wash is a slot canyon with rock walls formed by water erosion from flash floods at Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Kane County, Utah.

An old cemetery lying on Calton Hill in Edinburgh which opened in 1718 for the burial of tradesmen and merchants. It was extended in 1767, but divided in 1818 by the building of Waterloo Place (the street at bottom right). The larger part lies to the south of Waterloo Place and includes a number of grand and interesting memorials. An enormous obelisk (shaped liked Cleopatra's needle) by Thomas Hamilton (1784 - 1858) remembers the political martyrs of 1793, who were 'transported' for sedition. The classical monument (the round one) to philosopher David Hume (1711-76) was built in 1777 by Robert Adam (1728-92) and the Emancipation Monument (1893), comprising a bronze of Abraham Lincoln with a grateful freed slave.

Tynemouth Priory stands on a headland on the northern bank of the River Tyne. The Priory is thought to have been founded in the early part of the seventh century and is the burial place of three kings; Edwin of Northumbria was the first in 651a.d. then Osred, King of Northumbria in 792a.d. and finally Malcolm III King of Scotland in 1093. Point Loma Lighthouse is a black and white art print of the lighthouse located in the Cabrillo National Monument. Cabrillo National Monument is on the southern tip of Point Loma in San Diego, California, which is the entrance to San Diego Bay from the Pacific Ocean. The lighthouse dates back to 1855 and is located on the highest point in the National Monument. The monument is to commemorate the landing of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo at San Diego Bay in 1542.
