Sun rising over the Old Chemical Beach, located on the north east coast of England, slightly south of Seaham Harbour. The name was given to the area during the times of the old chemical works that are situated on the cliff tops. The area still shows the remnants of the industrial heritage.

Lindisfarne or Holy Island as it is often referred to is located just off the Northumberland Coastline and is only accessible by road via a causeway that is visible at low tide. A small island containing a fishing harbour and a castle, it holds a prominent position in the religious heritage of the area. When on the island, looking west to the mainland, if lucky, you witness some great sunsets.

The MV Dayspring, more commonly known as the Corpach Wreck, lies on the shore of Loch Linnhe on Scotlands west coast. Originally a fishing boat, it was tied to the dock, when during a storm a securing chain snapped and the boat was washed to this location. Canon 5D Mk3 16-35 L lens

A storm clearing over the shores of Bamburgh in Northumberland. Looking north as the sky begins to clear, the outline of Lindisfarne (Holy Island) is beginning to appear.

Cow Green Reservoir is located in the dales of County Durham, close to the borders with Cumbria and Upper Teesdale. The reservoir feeds water to the River Tees, via the weir and the Cauldron Snout waterfall. In the distance is Black Hill, leading to Mickle Fell and the Warcop military firing ranges.

The coastal town of Seaham Harbour is in County Durham on the north east coast of England. Once a very busy port exporting coal from the numerous mines in the area and chemicals and glass from the chemical works, it is now a much quieter area. A search of the beaches in the area still show the history of the area, with old wagon tracks and uprights visible on the less frequented beaches. Here a set of old wagon wheels sit in the sea, only visible a low tides......they stand proud against the sea, with Seaham pier and lighthouse in the background, a reminder of the history of the area.

The Allt Mor Burn tumbles down Meall Dubh, through the woods and into the village of Kinloch Rannoch. The waterfall is best seen in the winter months as it splashed over the rock formations into the village.

The sheep pen is located next to the River Coquet which runs through the Coquet Valley of Northumberland, close to the Scottish Borders. The sheep pens are located on the valley floor. The sheep are moved from the surrounding hills during what can be very severe winters.

The dating of Morton Castle has been debated, but it was probably built in the late 1200s or early 1300s. Notoriously difficult to find, it’s situated on a triangular spur of land, surrounded by steep drops to an artificial loch. It’s one of only a few surviving hall-houses that have been identified, and by far the most complex. It retains some of its original impressive presence, and carries a real sense of discovery. Kippford is a village on the Solway Coast and lies just three miles from Dalbeattie. Kippford is an unusually narrow village on the shore of the estuary of the River Urr and is popular with yachtsmen. It is a charming waterside location and from Kippford you can take a stroll on the Jubilee footpath to the pretty village of Rockcliffe.

The partly frozen Derwent Reservoir, located in County Durham, close to the border of Northumberland and the villages of Edmunbyers and Blanchlands in the respective counties.

One of the most atmospheric and inspiring castles in England, Dunstanburgh Castle was built in the 14th century and is located between the villages of Craster and Embleton on the Northumberland coast.

Loch Morlich, is a loch located in the Cairngorm National Park of the Scottish Highlands, located close to the town of Aviemore. The loch is captured after a late autumnal storm is clearing and the blue sky returning. Canon 5D Mk3 16-35 L lens

The first snowfall to dust the hills surrounding Cow Green Reservoir, located in Weardale Valley close to Teesdale and the North Pennines. The crystal clear and still water made for fantastic reflections of the foreground rocks. Canon 5D Mk3 24-105 L-series lens

The Costa Calma, located in the southern end of Fuerteventura has expanses of sandy beaches and is famous for wind and kite surfing. Close to the Melia Gorriones hotel, the coast and hills (that look like huge sand dunes) allow for some colourful and scenic sunsets and sunrises.

Loch Morlich is a loch located in the Cairngorm National Park of The Scottish Highlands. The loch is located next to the roadside on the drive from the town of Aviemore to the Cairn Gorm mountain.

The Ribblehead Viaduct also known as the Batty Moss Viaduct in the Ribble Valley of North Yorkshire, carries the Settle - Carlisle railway over Batty Moss at Ribblehead.
