Juvenile Black Throated Sparrow Kids T-Shirt

Juvenile Black Throated Sparrow by Debra Martz Black-throated Sparrows hop along the ground searching for insects and seeds. We could not have been luckier with our campsite at South Llano River State Park as there was a family of Black-throated Sparrows that fed there daily. As the days went on they were used to us sitting under the picnic shelter early morning and in the evenings and instead of feeding at the back of the area they came closer all the time. This is a juvenile which lacks the bold black throat but it is close enough that you can see the stripes on the throat and chest that will soon be solid. So comfortable were the juveniles that they came extremely close...one even hopped right up on the picnic bench and stared at me...
