This is an original art piece created by Ashvin Harrison. Details about the original art piece are below:
This art piece is my emotional reaction on canvas towards the ongoing issues with domestic violence. We are constantly reminded that women (and some men) in society are falling victim to abuse in their own homes. This is something I feel very strongly about and believe that through the arts, we can help keep this destruction of innocence a hot topic, leading towards greater focus on assisting and educating in this area.
I use the infamous Ned Kelly helmet as a representation of a mask, shelter, armour, battle scars, safety and victimisation for indifference or unresolved conflict. I have placed wrens either side of her shoulders as a representation of good and bad side reflection (shoulder angels)- both a positive sight and expressing the answer to fly, fly away! The pose is self explanatory I guess.
I have decided to enter this piece in an acquisition arts award and can't offer a definite sale as of yet.
