Solar Cross out of the Ether The Solar cross is the oldest cosmological symbol in the world, appearing in Asian, American, European, and Indian religious art from the dawn of history. Composed of an equal armed cross within a circle, it represents the solar calendar- the movements of the sun by the circle with the solstice and equinox marked by the arms of the cross.

My own take on the ancient Solar Cross symbol, also known as the Sunwheel, Sun Cross or Celtic Cross. This symbol may be the most oldest cosmological symbol of them all. The earliest examples of the Solar Cross date back 11 thousand years, well into neolithic times. It is a symbol of the cyclical nature of time and can represent the day/night cycle, the orbit of the earth around the sun to create the year with its cycle of four seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn (Fall) and Winter. Its cyclical nature also makes it a symbol of Fortune and the impermanence of both tragedy and success. For this reason it may be treated as a good luck symbol.
