The original Auberge de Castille (built in 1573–74) was dismantled and completely rebuilt in the Spanish Baroque style between 1741 to 1744. The building was restored between 2009 and 2014. It is the main building in the Castille Square near the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

To comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), public libraries and public schools have been censoring the internet for over a decade by banning and blacklisting websites. In exchange, for government funds, the law was established to urge public libraries and schools to filter child pornography and obscene or “harmful to children” pictures from their internet connections.
