The Police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977. For most of their history the line-up consisted of primary songwriter Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland. The Police became globally popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Emerging in the British new wave scene, they played a style of rock influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz.

This is my concert ticket stub for The Police gig at the Supertent on Tooting Bec Common, London on Monday December 22nd 1980. They had Tommy Cooper on doing magic tricks as support. Can't believe it's 40 years ago!

Stewart Copeland's solo EP released during the heyday of the Police is a new wave highpoint! It features "Don't Care," "Ritch in a Ditch," and the landmark instrumental "Theme for Kinetic Ritual," which was the opening music for the 1980s MTV show IRS's The Cutting Edge.
