Ah those cats and their cactuses ( or is it cacti?) Cool and cute illustrations drawn by hand with markers. The series is based on a 19th century theory called Ontogeny Recapitulate Phylogeny. It is the idea of an organism going though it’s history of its species during growth and development. I have this concept in my mind since A.P. Biology in High School, and also goes along with my interest in the process of metamorphosis. Change can be really scary, but change will always keep happening. Life is constantly moving, nature is a big cycle of growth and destruction. Can something that terrifies me be beautiful at the same time? The little pyromaniac inside me regularly battles with the part of me that lies awake at night wondering if my neighbor forgot to turn off their oven. I love stoking campfires yet ever since I saw an apartment burn down near mine I can't shake that fear... What does the garlic symbolize? Nothing, I just like garlic....
