Vintage is a critical time of the year.Years work goes into producing fruit. Its always a miraculous transformation when the nets go on. Pre vintage we have to save our fruit from bird strike!

We have weddings in our garden, here are some flowers from a special day.. Magpie Springs is a rustic farm very close to the McLaren Vale in the Adelaide Hills Wine Region. The property has some of the oldest vines in the Southern Adelaide Hills. Our vineyard, homestead, art gallery and cellar door in the centre of the Fleurieu Peninsula is nestled back from B34, the main road from Hahndorf to Willunga Hill. We are half way from Adelaide to Victor Harbor. Our vines, organically grown since 2013 have been under a restoration process and are now producing premium fruit. 5 different winemakers purchase our fruit. The aparatus which puts the nets over the vines is on the back of a 4WD. Its spectacular to watch.The nets cover 4 rows at a time and are taken off before picking.

These secauteurs are designed to pick the fruit. When vintage is on, teams of people arrive at dawn. Someone in the wine industry will recognize what an intense time of year this is.We grow 7 varietals of grapes organically. One day last year we had 150 people onsite picking.
